Early Beginnings and Passion for Climbing: Nicolai, born on the 11th of August 2000 in Villach, began climbing at the age of six in his small village in Carinthia, Austria. His hobby soon transformed into a passion, driving him to pursue climbing at a competitive level.

Rise in Youth Competitions: He quickly made a name for himself in youth climbing competitions, becoming Austrian Youth Champion multiple times and achieving podium placements in International Youth Competitions. This early success laid the foundation for his future career in climbing.

World Cup Debut and Youth Olympic Games: At the age of 16, Nicolai made his World Cup debut, marking his entry into the elite climbing circuit. Just two years later, he reached the semi-finals of a Bouldering World Cup, finishing 13th.
